Classy Work/On The Town ‘Fit

Um can we talk about this summer heat wave or what?! I just gotta say I’m so thankful for summer thunderstorms to cool me down. I’m also super thankful for stylish summer outfits that are perfect for going out or even the work environment (depending on the jeans rule of course;) ). Oh do I have an outfit for you!

Brynne-43

First things first: this is one of my favorite tops in my summer wardrobe. I wear it a lot when I have to look nice at special events for work (I am a House Manager for a Summer Theatre and an Events Technician for campus events). It also serves as a great outfit for church and grabbing dinner on a date night! I originally got my top from Spring Sweet, a super cute boutique shop in Holland, Michigan. The brand is Current Air, and they have the top online to check out! I highly recommend. (Note: The top was half the price that it shows online at Spring Sweet at their full price.)

My jeans are from Urban Found, another cute boutique store in Holland, but there are tons of cute fringe pants out there! A pair that I really like is from Top Shop, and they have a high waist too! They’re perfect for crop tops and tucking things in if needed.

Lastly, my wedges are from Old Navy. I wear them almost every day to work because they are super comfortable and affordable! I have super high arches and a lot of shoes usually hurt my feet when I walk in them all day… but these are perfect!

Thanks for checking out this cute, semi-professional outfit! I’m so glad you stopped by. šŸ™‚

Best Casual Summer Jumpsuits

If I could wear anything the rest of my days, it would definitely be a jumpsuit. Regardless of how much I try to branch off, I’m always drawn to them because they are so cute and easy to wear! I’ve been looking for some jumpsuit ideas for the summer and these are on my wish list!

This gem is from Showpo. I love how fitted it is on the top and how simple it is. The ruffles are so cute on the shoulders! Not to mention, the back is so cute!

Nasty Gal has such cute suits! This one reminds me so much of the 70’s and I love the color! Plus the belt is a nice accessory.

I’m loving this Princess Polly jumpsuit. It’s a great non-white neutral and the half calf length is a great cut.

As you all know, I’m slightly obsessed with Madewell… and this jumpsuit is so cozy! I love the material it’s made out of and it’s definitely a clothing type you could wear in the late Spring/Summer/Early Fall.

Lastly, this jumpsuit from Topshop is so fun! I love how you can decide to layer it or not. The lacy texture makes it so interesting and the color works well with any neutral.

Those are all my picks for now! I love each of these places for online shopping because they are so funky and artistic. As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an incredible day!

3 Tips on Wearing Dresses in the Winter

Hello everyone! Wow it’s been a bit! After a week of scheduling, going to classes, and planning for the future, I’ve finally had some time during my February break to write a little bit! I really like the winter, but the only downside is not being able to show off cute clothes. Everyone is in a coat and unless you’re trying to stay cozy indoors, there’s no great way to rock an outfit when it’s chilly out! I especially miss pulling out my dresses. Lucky for you, I have some pro tips for creating some great dress-fits that don’t mind the cold as much.

  1. Wear Tights-Ā This may seem like an obvious one, but I see ladies all over my campus that look absolutely miserableĀ going to classes or special events because they’re trying to face the snow and wind inĀ bare legs. For the love of soft skin and lack of hypothermia, tights were created for a reason! You can pull of sheer, black tights with just about any outfit (even rompers/jumpsuits) as well as colorful tights to spice up and outfit. And if your dress calls for bare legs, there’s also skin-toned tights to make your legsĀ seemĀ bare but allow you to stay warm! Do yourself a favor and don’t freeze to death!
  2. Layer With a Sweater-Ā This is my favorite tip. You can add a little flavor to any outfit by adding a cardigan or pullover sweater to a seemingly cold outfit. You’ll keep warm and look super cute! If your dress doesn’t have as much detail, it’s a great way to add texture and a pop of something different. Depending on how cold it is (PLEASE keep in mind the weather), you may not even need a jacket! It’s an artsy and classy way of wearing a sweatshirt over a dress, but you look cuter!
  3. Wear an Undershirt.Ā I know I’ve definitely regretted putting on a tank top when I can feel a breeze going straight through my shirt or sweater. It’s not fun, especially in temperatures below freezing. Wearing a tank top is a small way to stay warm and isn’t noticeable at all. You will thank yourself for wearing a cami or tank when the wind chill is in the negatives and you have to dress up for a presentation!

I like mixing different patterns with my outfits to make the details pop!

I’m looking forward to ditching some my snow boots for some sandals and sitting out in the sun! I know it’s coming, we just have to believe. šŸ˜‰ Have a wonderful day, stay warm, and don’t forget to bundle up when you’re ready to look cute!

It is absolutely awful out! In Michigan, there’s a -42 windchill set for tomorrow, so thank goodness my school decided to cancel class and activities for tomorrow! It gives me the chance to catch up on some much needed rest, reflection, and chill time. Despite the terrible weather, I’ve had so much fun this past month pulling some outfits together. This one is definitely one of my favorites that I’ve put together!

My top is from Madewell. It was on sale when I bought it and I was overjoyed! I love the details on the arms and the bottom of the shirt. Plus, I’m a sucker for velvet and the color is so flattering on anyone (even on sad, pale people like myself)! It’s also a rare in-between kind of shirt where you could dress it up or down depending on what you’re wearing it for. It’s perfect for going out, a business interview, audition, or even a fun everyday top!

My pants are from Topshop. I had been eyeing them for awhile in Nordstrom because I thought they were the cutest. Thankfully, they went on sale and then I had a gift card. The detailing is so fun and I love that the colors are all neutrals. The silver brings such a fun pop to the outfit. I wear them all the time!

My boots are from Clarks! I’ve mentioned them so many times before, but I’ve worn them almost every day since I’ve gotten them. They’re really durable and for people who have wide feet, they’re so comfortable. They also have great arch support. I’ve worn them all over Chicago for a day and didn’t feel any pain in my feet. Plus, they’re so classic!

That’s all I have for today. I’m gonna make myself some hot chocolate tonight and get a lot of sleep. Stay warm out there and bundle up! You’re going to need it!
