Throughout the past 5-10 years of my life, my biggest regret has been caring too much about what people think of me. To be honest with you, I had a huge interest in photography that started in middle school. I edited terrible pictures with my tiny digital camera on picnik and edited neon letters and borders around each of them… yikes.
But as I got older, I had a better camera, eye, and knack for photography. It was something I LOVED. The only thing that got in the way was the girls in high school that judged me for it. They would ignore me in places where I was forced to be in the same room with them, whisper about me right in front of them, and make me feel so unwelcome. To this day I’m not sure if all of it had to do with my passion for Instagram and Fashion, but I let their thoughts dictate how much I pursued it… and guess what? I stopped for awhile. For a couple of years I let that get the better of me, and I almost gave up completely.
I stopped caring what those girls thought of me years ago, but the message still haunted me. People are going to judge me. And guess what? They will. What’s going to happen if they judge me? Absolutely nothing. It took me until recently to put my full effort into blogging and fashion. Will people think the outfits I wear are crazy? Will people think I’m trying to shove what I wear/have in other’s faces? I can’t answer that, but what I can say is that I LOVE what I do. I enjoy creating art of all kinds, I love working with others, and if I didn’t do it, I would be miserable.
So cheers to not caring! Cheers to this AMAZING cheetah print skirt and funky teddy coat, and cheers to not giving a crap as I shoot this outfit in the middle of my downtown. Art is meant to be shared.
(The teddy coat, maxi skirt, and jewelry pieces are all from Urban Found. Check out their store website here, and stop by one of their locations in Holland, Saugatuck, and South Haven.
Hello everyone, happy June! I’m so glad to be back and writing. First thing on the list: rompers.
I love any kind of romper because they are so easy to wear and a simple, cute outfit idea. The vintage t-shirt ones especially are what have been inspiring me lately. Although my romper is from Urban Outfitters, it’s from last summer’s season. But don’t fret, because I’ve found so many cute rompers for you to look at!
I’ve pulled rompers from Modcloth, Madewell, and Anthropologie for you to check out. These are my colorful and fun picks for the summer season! I hope one of these ones ends up being your favorite. 🙂
Hello everyone, it’s finally spring! It feels surreal to walk around without a coat on. It’s so beautiful out that I’ve had the urge to go to the beach and get ice cream multiple times this week, can’t deny it any longer!
With warmer weather comes lots of Spring fashion! This is one of my favorite outfits I wore in New Orleans. It was super comfortable and I was able to wear it while I took a cemetery tour and walk all over the French Quarter! It had the perfect lightness to keep me cool, but just enough protection from getting too much sun.
My top is a passed on vintage blouse from my aunt. It’s 100% silk and I absolutely love it because it’s so soft and light! The colors are super fun as well. It kind of reminds me of Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog!
My tank top is also passed on vintage from my aunt, but I found a very similar version on Lulus that I love! (It’s Free People, of course.)
My jeans are from the Gap Outlet, and they are so stretchy and comfy. The high waist is such a cute look with a longer shirt or with something you can partially tuck in.
I got my sunglasses from The Trashy Diva, a vintage inspired boutique store in the French Quarter. I loved their glasses and I had to get this pair!
Lastly, my shoes are the brand Sam Elderman and I got them from Nordstrom Rack! Nordstrom’s shoes are always so cute and I could honestly spend hours in there trying things on! If you ever need a new pair of shoes before you go on vacation, Nordstrom Rack is the place to look.
I’ve linked very similar clothing pieces at the bottom to get the same look as the one I’ve put together in my post.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful spring weather and you’re looking forward to summer as much as I am! Have an incredible day!
Hey guys, it’s ya girl! I’m just here to spread some Christmas cheer and a little outfit inspo! I can’t believe there’s 4 more days until Christmas! I love this outfit because not only do I feel a little vintage, it has little hints of Christmas. I thrifted my skirt from a vintage store in Montreal and I got my turtleneck from none other than TJ Maxx! Not to worry, I found some similar and super cute options to get this look.
There’s a couple cute turtlenecks I found online that are similar and can go with just about any outfit! The first is from Dynamite and the other is from Zaful. What I love about these is the rib detail and they’re tight fitting, giving them a sleek look. Maroon is such a classic color and a subtle reminder for Christmas.
Some skirts that I found are so cute and they’re from Zaful and Zara. The checkered pattern is so cute and classic, reminding me of the 1940’s.
If you’re going to a fun Christmas party or need something to go out to dinner, this will give you an outfit to go back in time a couple decades. Thanks for reading and as always, and I hope your Christmas is wonderful.
